Why I am Proud to be an American

Why am I proud to be an American? The real question is why are WE proud to be Americans? Why are our people proud to be in our country? Well, to answer this particular question would be everything from the respect for freedom, armed forces, education, democracy …. absolutely everything.
The first thing I am going to discuss is freedom and respect. With freedom do you know what we can do? We can do amazing things, like worship as much as we please or as little as we please. Respect, oh respect. Would you want somebody barging into your house and demanding a place to sleep and eat your food? Well, just be glad we don’t live during the Revolutionary War era because the lobsterbacks or redcoats did that to the colonists. But now we don’t have the lack of respect that they did. That means that we are respectfully filled.
Another reason I am glad to be an American is because of the great and amazing eduction. In some countries kids can’t afford to go to school. I bet some boys and girls would say “lucky” but they are actually not lucky. We are. We are lucky because some kids don’t even know the basics of math, at the age of six or seven. That’s why we are lucky.
Do you know who keeps us feeling safe as we sleep? They are the armed forces. They guard us by land, sea, or sky. They are the reason we don’t worry about being bombed every now and then. They are the reason our country is safe.
I almost forgot about our democracy. During the revolutionary war King George III was taking away our rights to vote, add, change or create new laws. But now we do all those things. No one can take those rights away from us. No one can. And this is why I am proud to be an American.
